Out of Whack

Is "out of whack," or "all out of whack," a phrase that doesn't have a positive like some negative words don't? I never hear anyone say, nor have I read the phrase "in whack," "mostly in whack," or "back in whack." I like that last one; it might serve the same purpose as copasetic.

    I learned "copasetic" at Maplewood, along with "prodigious," probably not too long after the Lund girls taught me "apprehensive" and "perceptive."

    I seriously had about a hundred words in my vocabulary back then, and at least twenty of them were Spanish ones.

    It's okay that you didn't know a lot of words. I heard that Cat in the Hat used something like 525 words, thereabouts.

    525? Wow. Maybe I should start trying to rhyme everything to keep my vocabulary expanding.
